New Cover for Mark of the Peacock

Anyone ready for Spring Forward? (aka falling flat on your face because your so tired day)

Okay so thanks to Gray I got into Canva and made a book cover but I want ya'll's advice on it..

AND

I will include the 4th Chapter since I am at a bloggers block XD  NOTE this means I skipped a chapter*****

Chapter Four

Luna didn’t see this coming, the surprise on her face sent Allie into a fit of giggles.

“What may I use as self-defense?”  
Luna asked regaining her dignity and climbed down the bunk.

“Knives, swords, anything that isn’t apart of your body isn’t allowed.
 When we use weapons, we usually only do it when we are professional at it and won’t
kill the other person.”

Allie replied coolly examining her nails with pleasure of what was to come.  
They began circling one another, waiting for the other to make a move.
Luna did a jab into the right side of Allie’s stomach, backing up she expected Allie to show
some kind of pain.  
Instead Allie twirled, foot up, aiming for Luna’s middle. Luna crouched down,
just in time to miss the leg swing.
Luna aimed her head for Allie’s stomach and rammed her to the wall.
Then she hooked her foot on the back of Allie’s knees, so now Allie was on the floor
pinned down.

“Okay, okay, you win, you win.”  Allie managed to say between coughs, instantly Luna helped
Allie to her feet and brushed her off.

“You are good at self-defense, have you had any experience?”  Allie asked, curious now
about this girl.
Luna shrugged in reply, she didn’t have to explain herself to this girl.

“Do you know if we are going to be in the same classes?”  Luna asked trying to change the
subject.

“Yes but if we don’t hurry we will be late for dinner and you don’t want to start off badly,”
Allie answered leading Luna out the door.
They arrived at the chow hall and you could hear kids talking, all of them were in
line for the food.  
As Luna passed them she could smell of sweaty kids. Allie steered Luna to a table
where only a boy sat.
 He had a shock of red hair and bright electric blue eyes that seemed to pierce right
through you.

“This is my brother, Andrew,” Allie introduced the two and Andrew gave a little nod in
Luna direction then looked back down at a book he seemed to be studying.

“Why is everyone else in line but us?”  Luna asked looking around to see no one at their
tables.

“You can go in the line if you want but Allie and I find that if you are one of the last to
get in line then you get the better food.”  Andrew answered her looking up from his book.

“So where are you guys from?”  Luna asked, trying to make polite conversation.  
These two kids seemed to be the only decent people in here.

“Well we’re Irish but our parents moved here when Andrew was two and I was still a baby.”
 Replied Allie and suddenly spaced out.

“Does she always do that?”  Luna whispered to Andrew.

“Yeah, I’m kind of used to it now.”  Andrew stared at the floor, Luna felt she had to say
something but she didn’t know what.
 Luna thought about her mom and held onto her locket which was hidden beneath her shirt.
It made her fell hope that maybe all would again be peaceful, like that would ever happen now.
 Rumors were out that Greenland might be sinking
because of some continental shelf breaking or something like that.
Thankfully the line was much short maybe a few more minutes —:Luna we need to talk!:  
Allie stared at her but no words came out of her mouth, was she communicating through her brain?
 :Yes, it’s one of my gifts; we need to talk.: Could I send thoughts?  Luna wondered.
:Not yet, but when we talk I’ll show you.  Meet me outside of the building, directly under the window.:  
How am I going to climb out three stories?  Luna thought. :You’ll find a repelling set inside your mattress.:

“Let’s go and get some food now.”  Allie said, snapping out of her staring state.  
The meal wasn’t what Luna expected, but the oatmeal was at least warm.  
Sitting down at the table, Andrew produced a small bag of sugar. “Andrew!”  Allie hissed quietly.
“What? It tastes awful without it!” Andrew argued.

“What if you get caught?  It’ll be on your head!” Allie persuaded.  
Luna, wordlessly took the bag and poured some in everyone’s bowls.
 Without either of the siblings’ noticing she put the Ziploc bag into her boot, she might need it later.

“We should get some sleep,” Andrew spoke up after he was done, nodding to Luna he and Allie got up and left.  
Luna drifted right to sleep, despite the noise the girls were making in the room.
